Catching Up On NBA Draft Media

Draft Day is upon us at last!

I’m looking forward to seeing how things shake out tonight.

In the meantime, I want to catch you up on a busy week, and share the various NBA Draft previews that I’ve been working on.

On Monday, I hosted an Ask Me Almost Anything thread on reddit about the NBA Draft, discussing prospects, team’s plans, and scouting itself. We had over 1000 comments in the discussion. You can follow that conversation by clicking here.

I also participated in a two-part video Draft Preview with Coach Nick from the popular BBALLBREAKDOWN YouTube channel. We went in-depth on over a dozen prospects we expect to be selected tonight, including Nerlens Noel, Alex Len, Victor Oladipo, and Shabazz Muhammad.

Upcoming NBA Draft Media

The NBA Draft has always been one of my favorite events in sports.

This time around, I’ve had the opportunity to play a small part in it.

I’ve been working hard over the last year, assisting an NBA team with player evaluation related to the Draft.

The 2013 NBA Draft is next Thursday, June 27th, and I’ve been working around the clock to prepare.

In addition to the consulting, I’m also doing some cool media-related stuff surrounding the Draft.

redditI’m excited to announce that I’m hosting another Ask Me Almost Anything session on reddit, where I’ll be answering questions related to the NBA Draft.

Verbal Commits Success Story

Verbal Commits

One of the businesses I’ve had the pleasure of consulting with this year has been Verbal Commits.

A basketball recruiting start-up, Verbal Commits has seen a tremendous amount of growth in the last few months. It’s gone from just a couple hundred Twitter followers to over 2000, including many top Division I head basketball coaches.

They aggregate data from other websites around the Internet and present it to readers in a clean, easy-to-access way.

I’ve been assisting in an advisory role, helping with the start-up’s direction in a challenging industry.

Here’s what Verbal Commits founder Paul Pettengill had to say about working with me:

“I was lucky enough to meet James Kerti as my start-up was in its nascent stages, and since then, James’s council has helped position it as a leader in a very crowded market.
